data. Information technology uses digital data because digital data gives us a
clear view of the advantages of digital data. There are also disadvantages of
using digital data and we will educate about them.
Advantages of Digital representation of data
There are five main advantages of using
digital data, they are similar hardware design, ability to use different types
of media, efficient data transfer, storage of data and speed and accuracy of
processing. Devices that process binary data only be capable to represent and
process the data items. Devices with low voltage are represented a zero and
devices with high voltage are represented as one. Low level processes are built
in the hardware of digital devices by using it in complicated ways all the
different information processes are used. Therefore basic designs are reused in
all digital devices and this is an advantage. Devices that manipulate data can
manipulate data from different types of media and the low level processes use
to manipulate data regardless of the media type. We can combine different media
types; an example of this is slide show with audio and video. Therefore many
media types are multipurpose today. The data transfer of binary is efficient
