Non-Computer Storage and Retrieving

Paper-Based Storage
Paper based storage is an extremely common and practical method of storing data. Paper can store most media types and is very durable compared to computer methods of storing. Despite this, paper storage requires excessive amounts of physical space to store data and takes a very long time to search through or analyse this data. |
Microfiche
Microfiche is used to store larger quantities of data in a smaller space than paper making it more space efficient. It can contain the same media that paper based storage can contain but is much more practical for copying images as it stores this data on film. The downside to this is that you can only read this data if you have access to the correct viewing device. Microfiche is also durable and a viable method for archiving data. |
Libraries
Libraries are a method of storing data so it is easily accessible. Normally libraries store many different types of data stored in many different forms with a catalogue of all the data stored for ease of access.
